Witt/Kieffer has been retained to identify candidates for the position of Vice President, Chief Medical Information Officer for University Hospitals located in Cleveland, Ohio.
University Hospitals (UH), is one of the nation’s leading health care systems, providing high-quality, patient-centered medical care throughout northeast Ohio. UH includes an academic medical center, which serves as a pre-eminent teaching facility for physicians, nurses, and ancillary medical personnel. With more than 24,000 physicians and net revenue of $2.3 billion, UH is one of the largest employers in northeast Ohio.
The Vice President, Chief Medical Information Officer (VP/CMIO) will report directly to the Chief Information Officer with a close collaborative relationship with the Chief Medical Officer. The VP/CMIO will serve as a key representative, advocate, and IT change agent for the UH physician community on all the information systems committees. The VP/CMIO will provide the vision, structure, and leadership over data analytics and informatics initiatives to transform and innovate care across the UH system.
The ideal candidate will have a track record of documented success in the implementation and optimization of EHR systems. The candidate must also have extensive knowledge and real world applications of informatics and data analytics expertise. All applicants must have an M.D., five years clinical practice experience, and three to five years of progressive experience in clinical informatics, including work as a CMIO or similar position. Board Certified in Clinical Informatics is desirable, but not required.
