Witt/Kieffer has been retained to conduct the search for the Chief Medical Information Officer for North Mississippi Health Services, located in Tupelo, Mississippi.
North Mississippi Health Services (NMHS) presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) to join a highly regarded health system that is financially strong and poised for future growth. NMHS is the market leader in North Mississippi and Northwest Alabama covering a service area of 24 counties and approximately 720,000 people. NMHS is a vibrant, regional healthcare organization and a recipient of many national awards including the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. As a patient and family centered organization, NMHS is focused on continuously improving the health of the people in the region. NMHS has launched an ACO and a CIN to align providers and better manage population health. The CMIO will have a key role in supporting the continued development and growth of the ACO and CIN.
NMHS seeks an energetic, consultative CMIO with a strong operational knowledge base and optimization experience gained within a health system setting. The CMIO is a critical hire for the organization and will assist the Chief Information Officer and other IT leaders in the development of the strategy and implementation of a new ambulatory EMR. The incoming CMIO will be an essential leader in communicating IT initiatives to physicians, developing education to engage the clinical community, and optimizing workflows across the health system. Additionally, the CMIO will assist in the continued development of the analytics program to break down silos of data into a single source of actionable, real-time information to be used for quality, operations, and population health efforts.
The ideal candidate will be a servant leader that believes his/her best work can be accomplished in a high-quality, patient driven and high-functioning regional health system where there is a strong commitment to growth. The CMIO will be a credible, approachable leader with the ability to work in close partnership with the clinical and IT communities within the health system. He/she must be a contemporary thinker and thought-leader around the challenges of health care delivery and must be innovative, efficient and creative in the oversight of the healthcare clinical information systems. Currently practicing in a clinical setting is preferred with the ability to qualify for licensure in the State of Mississippi and to the medical staff of North Mississippi Medical Center.
