Kootenai Health seeks a dynamic, experienced physician to serve as its next Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO). This is an exceptional opportunity to join a growing and financially strong regional healthcare organization that has made significant capital investments over the past several years, expanding in both size and scale to meet the healthcare needs of the communities it serves. As the dominant provider in Northern Idaho, Kootenai Health is well positioned for future growth and success. The new CMIO will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by having a key role in ensuring that the strategic priorities of Kootenai Health are achieved, in particular, the implementation of a foundation model of the Epic EHR.
The CMIO will play a key leadership role in the optimization of health information systems by building on Kootenai’s strong foundation of advanced clinical care. The CMIO will assist in leading strategy, vision and designing the futuristic application of clinical informatics across the enterprise as well as operational leadership for the implementation and integration of new clinical systems.
The CMIO will be an experienced healthcare professional whose personal and professional conduct achieves these standards. He/she will initiate best practices and will demonstrate the critical qualities of leadership necessary to formulize new and innovative programs. The CMIO will motivate staff and system leadership to attain new levels of collaborative partnerships to promote Kootenai Health’s mission of working with communities to help each person attain optimal, life-long health and well-being. Superior judgment, creativity, communication skills and the ability to thrive in a highly complex, extraordinarily matrixed environment will be necessary ingredients to this leader’s success.
A key initiative for Kootenai Health is the transition from disparate information systems to an integrated EHR. Plans are underway for the migration to Epic and the CMIO will play an integral role in the successful conversion to Epic.Leave a reply →
