Witt/Kieffer has been retained by Guthrie Clinic (Guthrie) in their search for a collaborative and experienced informatics leader to join the growing, physician-led health system as their next Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO).
Guthrie has grown from a physician group, to a multi-specialty practice with more than 500 physicians and advanced practice providers, 4 hospitals and 32 ambulatory care sites across 21 communities. The health system was an early adopter of the electronic health record (EHR), beginning the implementation of Epic in 2003.
Reporting directly to the President of Guthrie Medical Group, the CMIO will lead the development of an interdisciplinary system-level strategy for, and oversight of clinical health information management. The CMIO will develop a team of physician champion’s throughout the health system to evangelize the optimization of patient care systems. He/she will assist in leading strategy, vision and designing the futuristic application of clinical informatics across the enterprise as well as operational leadership for the implementation and integration of new clinical systems.
The CMIO will be an experienced healthcare professional whose personal and professional conduct achieves these standards. As the health system is physician-led, the CMIO will be expected to maintain a small percentage of clinical practice in addition to their CMIO role.
