WittKieffer has been retained to conduct the search for the Chief Health Informatics Officer (CHIO) at Southern Illinois Healthcare (SIH). This is an exciting opportunity to join the region’s largest and most accomplished health care provider who has acquired national accolades in cardiac and stroke care, rehabilitation and bariatric services, breast imaging and quality. SIH, located in southern Illinois, is a three-hospital, non-profit health system, dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of all of the people in the communities it serves.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President & Chief Medical Officer (SVP/CMO), the CHIO will lead the development of an interdisciplinary system-level strategy for, and oversight of, clinical health informatics. The CHIO will also work closely with the Vice President & Chief Innovation Officer (VP/CIO) and other senior executives in the organization. As the enterprise physician informatics executive, the CHIO will be a visible, innovative, proactive, and forward-thinking leader in a health system that has been consistently recognized for providing high quality patient care throughout the region.
The CHIO, along with other senior leaders at SIH, will make a significant impact on the health system and the community they serve. This role is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned informatics leader to take on a high-level leadership role within a well-established health care system. The successful candidate must have an M.D. with a robust background of recent clinical practice. Formal informatics training is preferred.
