The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) seeks a dynamic, distinguished executive to serve as its Chief Health Informatics Officer (CHIO). OSUWMC is focused on delivering world class, compassionate patient care while advancing its education and research missions. The CHIO will be pivotal in leveraging technology and driving the development and deployment of information technology used across multiple disciplines (e.g., medical, nursing, pharmacy, etc.).

Serving as a member of the IT senior leadership team, this role will be responsible for aiding in the ongoing optimization efforts of clinicians in the use of the electronic medical record. The CHIO will also provide strategic leadership in technology initiatives related to digital innovation including telecommunications, data analytics and infrastructure. The CHIO is instrumental in supporting enterprise strategies to achieve the highest outcomes in patient safety, quality of care, operational performance, research and education across the clinical continuum.

The CHIO will develop strong, trusting relationships and communicate effectively across the medical center. The CHIO must be viewed as a collaborative leader who is customer focused and patient oriented, leading change effectively and delivering results within a transforming and complex health system. The CHIO should have a transparent and proactive communication style and be able to speak effectively with diverse stakeholder groups including clinicians, IT professionals and administrative leaders.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building and elevating clinical informatics programs that improve clinical outcomes. The CHIO will be someone who thrives in being a visible leader, motivating and managing people and resources across the hospital.
