Chief Medical Officer (CMO) – Spok, Inc., Eden Prairie, MN
Reporting to the CEO of Spok, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is responsible for broad strategic input and executive level customer communications relevant to Spok’s position in the industry. By working with Spok’s executives, leading physicians and healthcare executives, the CMO will ensure Spok is delivering value plus substantive growth in Spok’s products to enhance patient care, safety and improved outcomes.
Key responsibilities are to identify physician unmet needs for the Product organization, foster care team collaboration via product strategy and translate health system organizations’ business initiatives, quality measures and clinical patient care dynamics and standards to Spok’s leadership. The CMO will champion the voice of physicians and caregivers in suggesting new solutions that can be successfully implemented, used in a meaningful way, and will contribute to the achievement of patient care and other objectives as well as the long-term growth of the business. To facilitate this, the CMO will collaborate with the CTO and will consistently engage both customers and Spok’s Product organization leaders to shape Spok’s product roadmap to resolve problems, support the improvement of clinical outcomes, and increase customer satisfaction.
In concert with the CEO, CTO and VPs of Product Strategy and Engineering, the CMO will provide strategic input into Spok’s portfolio and roadmap regarding clinical solutions as well as thematic goals, prioritization, and sequencing for product releases. The CMO will collaborate with senior marketing and sales leaders and end-users to develop and participate in the delivery of marketing messaging and other external communication plans for Spok’s products to promote the adoption and optimization of Spok’s software in the healthcare marketplace via presentation in healthcare conferences.
Requires: Licensed Medical Doctor (MD) with 10-15 years of related clinical practice experience; Hospitalist, Emergency Medicine or Internal Medicine experience; previous leadership experience in an enterprise software technology company, health system or hospital involved in improving patient care. Experience in leading large scale quality improvement/change management initiatives preferred.
