Natividad is currently seeking a full-time permanent Hospital Chief Medical Officer – Quality Affairs. The incumbent reports directly to the Natividad Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for the strategic development and oversight of Quality Improvement Programs, as well as the Quality, Health Information Management, and Clinical Informatics Departments. The CMO- Quality Affairs designs, implements and administers quality improvement and outcome management processes, provides ongoing maintenance and evaluation of quality systems with a focus on quality of care/service, and manages quality improvement assessments, delegation oversight and regulatory compliance.

Develops, implements and maintains a comprehensive Quality Improvement Program to meet the needs of the population served, in order to provide high quality and culturally appropriate care
Maintains and establishes indicators for monitoring and evaluating the quality and appropriateness of care/service, assessing for continuous improvement in monitored activities, directs initiatives for improvement and evaluates the effectiveness of interventions across the continuum of care
Ensures compliance and provides direction and guidance on clinical quality improvement and management programs
Works collaboratively with key health care professionals toward identification of opportunities for improvement, trend analysis, education and development of appropriate action plans for problem resolution.
Reviews and interprets Federal, State and The Joint Commission regulations, policies, and procedures with regard to quality in an acute care facility; modifies hospital systems and procedures as required to ensure compliance
Oversees the hospital wide policies and procedures program; coordinates hospital wide surveys and/or audits
EXAMPLES OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
The ideal candidate will possess a valid California Medical license and have at least 5 years of experience managing a quality improvement program in an acute care facility.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Natividad requires that all incumbents pass a pre-employment physical/medical assessment.
Natividad will conduct a thorough background and reference check process, which includes a Department of Justice fingerprint check.
Employees who drive on County business to carry out job related duties must possess a valid CA Driver License for the class vehicle driven.
Employees must have and show their original Social Security Card and a valid CA Driver License or CA State ID prior to the first day of work.
Incumbents may be required to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Incumbents may be required to work with potentially hazardous and infectious substances.
