    Chief Information Officer

    Roswell Park’s Department of Information Technology is seeking a Chief Information Officer to work closely with other organization leaders and advisors to provide leadership and support needed to plan, develop, and implement cost-effective and efficient information and network systems to meet the information requirements of the organization. The CIO will have primary responsibility for the provision of organization’s information services, including mainframe and network operations, system development and operations, applications development and programming and telecommunications as well as working with the IT management team to translate strategic plans into specific short-term goals and departmental operating budgets, which detail cost projections, and may require the review and approval of others including, but not limited to, the senior leadership team, and the IT Steering Committee (comprised of members of the Roswell Park Board of Directors).

    The preferred candidate will have Comprehensive Cancer Center experience including understanding the overall operating model of a CCC, broadly understand NCI/NIH guidelines and have the ability to understand key relationships with the FDA and CCSG. Additionally, the preferred candidate would be highly skilled in analytical and strategic thinking, have the ability to successfully manage organizational change, build collaborative relationships inside or outside the organization, be results oriented and be able to foster and encourage innovation.

    The CIO position will report directly to the President and CEO, and oversee a large team of direct reports, including the Deputy Chief Information Officer, the Chief Medical Information Officer and the Chief Information Officer etc.

     Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.   A minimum of ten (10) years of full-time experience in information systems, including five (5) years’ experience in a supervisory, administrative, managerial, consultative, or executive capacity and a Master’s Degree in Business is required.
