Witt/Kieffer has been retained by Adventist Health (Adventist) to find a dynamic physician leader to serve as its Vice President, Health Informatics Officer (VP/HIO). This VP/HIO will serve as the senior-most informatics leader across the faith-based, non-profit health system with more than $4.1 billion in revenue, 20 hospitals and 280 clinics that span the West Coast and Hawaii. The health system is headquartered in Roseville, California, where this position will be based.
The VP/HIO will report to the Chief Clinical Officer. The VP/HIO will be a key leader in enabling the ongoing care transformation and clinical system optimization efforts across the health system. The VP/HIO will have a team and budget to accomplish this work as well as partner heavily with business analytics, care delivery, market executives and clinical leaders on all initiatives. She/he will be a highly visible leader in the health system and a constant presence in the markets. The VP/HIO will work together with Cerner IT team in the ongoing efforts to make the EHR more impactful in care redesign and to constantly improve the end user experience.
The successful candidate must have an M.D. or D.O. with a robust background in clinical practice. A recent direct patient care practice (in the past 5 years) is preferred but is not required. Experience in an integrated delivery health system is preferred. The VP/HIO will need to be able to navigate effectively a complex, multi-state health system as well as manage internal and external partnerships with the goal of improving patient care.
