The University of Connecticut/Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center Department of Family Medicine seeks a board certified family physician educator to serve as the Medical Director of our Family Medicine Center in Hartford, Connecticut. Have you heard of the Primary Care Office of the Future (https://www.cipci.org/future)? The author of that exhibit – which was the largest at the AAFP Scientific Assembly last Fall – Thomas Agresta, is from our Department, and practices in our FMC. That exhibit is an example of the direction that our practice transformation efforts are headed. We seek someone preferably mid-career to help bring that vision into reality. The Department has a long outstanding history of excellence in medical education, and has produced no less than 3 Presidents of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM). We are also actively engaged in the practice community here in CT, where we’ve produced no less than 3 Presidents of the Connecticut Academy of Family Physicians.
Asylum Hill Family Medicine Center serves as the Department’s only residency and faculty ambulatory care practice. We are a busy modern office practice located in the west end of Hartford directly across the street from Saint Francis Hospital which is one of the highest rated hospitals in the state and region, and a member of Trinity Health-New England. Our 21-resident program with a multi-disciplinary staff and faculty (including Behavioral Health, Medical Informatics, PharmD’s, Nutritionist and Research) offers a strong supportive environment to support excellence in patient care, medical education and community service. We are seeking a mid-career (associate professor or higher) family physician with innovative practice transformation experience to enhance the Joy in Practice at our Center.
